DIABOLIS Reveals New Bass Player to the World – Former Kill Ritual Bassist Joins the Ranks!
Waterbury, CT — From the depths of the Connecticut underground rises a new force in metal: DIABOLIS , the brainchild of drummer John J-SINZ LeVasseur and guitarist Gary Joseph , both former members of the local CT band TromitizeD . Since their formation, DIABOLIS has been igniting the scene with aggressive riffs and unrelenting rhythm, further fueled by the 2021 addition of screamer/vocalist Tim "Voxx" Hayden , completing the trio behind their crushing debut EP Watching the World Burn .
Now, in April 2025, DIABOLIS proudly unveils the final piece of their sonic arsenal: bassist David Alusik , now known simply as D . A seasoned veteran of both the underground and national metal scenes, D brings with him over 25 years of experience, a resume steeped in darkness, and a stage presence that’s nothing short of mythic.
Best known most recently as the touring bassist for California-based epic power metal warriors Kill Ritual (Massacre Records, produced by Andy LaRoque of King Diamond), D has also lent his talents to Chicago’s gothic metal force URN as a rhythm guitarist and occasional bassist, and spent a decade shaping sound with Indianapolis industrial metal pioneers NIMBUS (later known as Form30). Before that, he was part of the haunting Chicago Egyptian Goth Industrial outfit The Dark Theater .
Throughout his career, D has shared stages with titans such as Amorphis , Swallow the Sun , Razed in Black , and Slick Idiot (featuring members of KMFDM). More recently, DIABOLIS has taken the stage alongside legendary NWOBHM act Raven , Marc Lopes’ band Let Us Pray (formed before he joined Ross the Boss and later became the frontman for Metal Church ), and Connecticut metal mainstays Dead By Wednesday .
Raised in Stratford, CT, and recently returned after 25+ years in Indianapolis, D channels the spirits of Steve Harris , Geddy Lee , and David Ellefson , blending groove, aggression, and technical precision. With his massively long hair, ominous presence, and powerful bass tone, he doesn’t just play — he dominates.
With the lineup now complete, DIABOLIS is hard at work crafting new material and preparing to storm stages once again. Expect new music, new shows, and the unholy fire of a band reborn.
Stay tuned… The world will burn again.
